Cochlear Implant Program

Volunteer With PAMA - PAMA

Cochlear implants are devices that are surgically implanted under the skin, in the skull bone, and help children with the inability to hear regain sound. The implants are very sophisticated and costly devices. While professionals in Palestine have done these surgeries before, most programs have slowed down and stopped given the lack of funding. Each implant costs $10,000 inclusive of the device, surgery, pre and post-surgery testing, and post-surgical rehabilitation.

PAMA has made arrangements with the following parties to assure high-quality service: the Red Crescent Hospital in Hebron, AlQuds Hospital in Gaza, Med-El cochlear implant provider in Austria, and hearing loss rehabilitation centers.

Unfortunately, without your help, most Palestinian children who need this service will end up not receiving support. Every passing day without your help is another day these children’s cognitive deficits will grow with them and eventually, this disability will become unavoidable.

*PAMA will prioritize using your donation toward the project of your choice, however, in certain cases, PAMA may allocate funds where it’s needed most.
