Scholarships for Medical and Health Professions Students in the West Bank (2025)

Palestinian American medical association - PAMA

Overview

Throughout 2025, PAMA expanded its West Bank Scholarship Program to support financially vulnerable students enrolled in medicine and health professions programs across accredited Palestinian universities.

The initiative provides financial assistance that helps reduce tuition-related financial pressures, enabling students to remain enrolled and continue their academic progress. By supporting students in critical health disciplines, the program contributes to building a skilled healthcare workforce that will serve Palestinian communities in the years ahead.

Project Details

Financial hardship remains a significant barrier for many Palestinian students pursuing higher education in medicine and health-related fields. Rising tuition costs, economic instability, and limited financial support mechanisms place many students at risk of interrupting or abandoning their studies.

Supporting students during their medical and health sciences education is essential for sustaining the future healthcare workforce. Scholarships help ensure that talented and motivated students can continue their academic training and ultimately contribute to strengthening the Palestinian health system.

Key Interventions

The scholarship program implemented several activities to support students’ academic continuity:

  • Provision of tuition scholarships for eligible students enrolled in health-related degree programs
  • Support for students at risk of academic interruption due to financial hardship
  • Coordination with universities to ensure transparent selection and academic eligibility verification

Target Beneficiaries

The program primarily benefits financially vulnerable students pursuing medical and health professions degrees in the West Bank, particularly those at risk of interrupting their studies due to economic hardship.

Indirect beneficiaries include:

  • Universities and academic programs strengthened through sustained student enrollment
  • Healthcare institutions that will benefit from a growing pipeline of trained professionals
