Emergency Supplies_HC_GS

Overview

As Gaza’s health system continues to face severe shortages and repeated disruptions, access to essential medications and medical supplies has become critical to sustaining hospital operations and ensuring continuity of patient care.

In response, PAMA launched a program to support the regular provision of life-saving medications and medical disposables, enabling healthcare facilities across the Gaza Strip to continue delivering essential services under extremely challenging conditions.

Project Details

The prolonged humanitarian crisis in Gaza has placed enormous pressure on the healthcare system. Damage to medical facilities, supply chain disruptions, and increasing patient needs have created severe shortages of essential medications and medical disposables.

Hospitals and health facilities depend on a continuous supply of medications and consumables to manage emergency cases, perform surgical procedures, treat infections, and support patients with chronic diseases. When these supplies are unavailable, healthcare providers face significant challenges in delivering safe and effective care.

Ensuring the regular availability of essential medications and medical consumables is therefore critical to maintaining hospital functionality and preventing treatment interruptions.

Project Objectives

The overall objective of this intervention is to ensure the continuous availability of essential medications and medical disposables to sustain emergency and routine healthcare services across Gaza’s health facilities.

Specific Objectives

  • Strengthen hospital capacity by supplying essential medications required for patient care.
  • Ensure availability of medical disposables and personal protective equipment necessary for safe clinical practice.
  • Reduce treatment interruptions and stockouts affecting hospitals and healthcare providers.
  • Support healthcare workers in delivering safe and effective care under crisis conditions.

Target Beneficiaries

Patients receiving care at hospitals and healthcare facilities across the Gaza Strip who depend on continuous access to essential medications and medical supplies.

Secondary Beneficiaries

  • healthcare workers providing patient care
  • hospitals and health facilities facing severe supply shortages
